June AAMC President’s Letter
Dear Artists,
Throughout the year I am assisted by a wonderful group of board members. Each one contributes their talents in a unique way to keep AAMC running smoothly. I want to give a great big thank you to them for their dedication and help. And thank you too, members, for continuing to support our group and believe in our purpose.
We are now at the time of year when things get quiet here in Florida. The pace slows down, the weather heats up and our organization takes a break for several months. It is like we become dormant giving us the chance to rest, relax and refresh ourselves until the next season begins in October.
Take this time to think about goals or perhaps a new direction you might want to pursue in your art. What inspires you? If you know, allow yourself to spend time happily expressing yourself without any pressure or regard for the outcome. You will probably be delightfully surprised by the results. If you don’t know and are seeking creative inspiration, then it’s time to play! Color alone can be a great inspiration. Buying a new one or trying a new brush or different paper can be fun. Experiment with inks, gels, powders, pastels, matte or glossy mediums to get a variety of results. Try painting plein aire. Being outside enjoying nature is almost always a blessing to the spirit. If nothing else, you have changed your usual routine and that alone should feel good. My wish for you is that you have a summer filled with creativity and inspiration!
Your President,
Sharon Ferina
