DAVID BLANCHARD
After a 19 year layoff from painting, Dave became disabled and out of work. At that time he moved to Savanna Club in Port St Lucie and became interested in painting again when he joined their Fine Arts League. His favorite medium, watercolor, became an obsession, and he practiced and read everything he could to improve his work. Somewhere along the line in the past couple years, Dave began experimenting with other mediums too, and has completed several fine artworks in Acrylics and Oils. He is particularly excited about the way oil paint has such smooth flowing and blending characteristics and it is rapidly becoming one of his alternate favorite ways of expression. He continually reads, studies and practices his techniques, and is on the Art Education Committee at Savanna Club Fine Arts League. Dave was born in Connecticut but spent extensive time traveling, mostly domestically during his youth. His mother was an Art Teacher and got him interested in painting at an early age. He grew up always around the water, either the ocean or many lakes and has a love for the water and boats.
