SANDY SIMPSON
Their home reflects their world travels. They have four children and nine grandchildren. While their children were growing, she directed muppet puppet teams impacting hundreds of children in California, Indiana, Papua New Guinea and here in Florida. She was a B.S.F. leader for nearly 15 years and has always been active in their church. While serving in Papau New Guinea as hostel parents, Sandy began experimenting with watercolor. Surviving thyroid cancer, AVM (arterial venus malformation) brain surgery, and recently stage 3 colon cancer she has a great passion to paint and teach as an expression of her love for God. She often hides her favorite inspirational verse in her work: Colossians 3:23 ..”Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord…” Sandy graduated from Purdue University with a double major in interior design and art history. She has been a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers for over 25 years. Her design resume includes: designer in a prominent architectural firm in Indianapolis, Indiana; instructor at the Interior Designer’s Guild in Los Angeles, California teaching drafting, lighting, art history, and basic design; co-owner of a commercial design firm in central California, former co-owner of Waterways Gallery, Stuart, Florida from 2002-2007. Sandy is a member of the Art Associates of Martin County, Jensen Beach Art League, Palm City Art Associates, and Associate member of the Florida Watercolor Society.
