Previously Featured Artist:
Valerie has been in several juried art shows including the Elliott Museum’s “Florida Reflections” 2008, Florida Watercolor Society’s online non-signature member exhibition 2009, and the Backus Gallery’s “Best of the Best” 2009 in which she won 3rd place. Her art is in private collections and is shown in Zafka Pottery and Fine Art Studio in Jensen Beach. Whatever she decides to paint, be it flowers, figurative, nature or still life, Valerie’s ultimate goal is to engage the viewer and make them feel that they are actually looking at the object itself and not just a painting.

After a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse and her children raised, Valerie Geever began to follow her other passion was art, of any kind. Although she has dabbled in many forms of art: murals and trompe l’oeil, fabric art and flower arrangements, to name a few, her true love is watercolors. Starting her art career at the age of 44, she took watercolor lessons for three years from Sally Browning Pearson. Since then she has attended numerous workshops and is constantly looking through art books and magazines honing her skills.
